Hello, I'm Dr. Dawn Lamb and welcome to my website.

Naturopathic Medicine is a unique and comprehensive approach to improving health and eliminating illness.

There is a biological intelligence (a healing ability) within the human body that controls, maintains, repairs and renews your body.  It is my job (as your doctor) to assist you (my patient) in activating your body's healing ability.  This requires my patients to have a willingness to make lifestyle changes that no longer aid them in maintaining health.  This is done by addressing all aspects of who you are.  You have within you a physical component, a mental & emotional component and a spiritual aspect that makes you who you are.  The way you move through your daily life using all of these pieces is what makes you unique.  It also creates the habits you have in your daily living.  When these parts are unbalanced health decays.  Many times I will ask my patients to remove some obstacle/habit that is disrupting the body's ability to heal.  There are other times I will ask my patients to learn a new habit which will bring him/her closer to health.

All of this is done with the goal in mind of being brought back into balance and into health.

The primary therapies I use to aid in creating health are diagnostic blood work, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, flower remedies, detoxification methods, counseling, breath work and body movements.

My patients range from pediatrics to geriatrics.Every patient I have is unique so each treatment plan is an individualized care for health plan.  You must take care of yourself to have health.

The safety record for naturopathic medicine is excellent.  This makes sense given the emphasis on non-toxic, natural source medicines, and gentle non-invasive protocols.  Side effects are rare and I've been trained and am knowledgeable about contra-indications between naturopathic medicine and conventional medicine.

Once you are established as my patient you can request house calls for additional fees for mileage and distance traveled.

What therapies do I use?

Balanced and Wholesome Nutrition. Special diets and treatments including nutritional supplements such as vitamins, minerals & enzymes.
Botanical (herbal) medicine:
Plant substances from around the world are used for their healing effects & nutritional value.
Homeopathic Medicine:
Based on the principle of "like cures like", Homeopathic Medicine was developed in the 1700s.
Minuscule amounts of natural substances are used to stimulate the body's self-healing abilities.

Lifestyle Counseling:
Physical, emotional, mental, nutritional, environmental & spiritual factors influence our state of health.

I help my patients make effective lifestyle choices.  These choices move you toward health.

The educational training for my doctorate degree encompasses basic medical sciences, naturopathic principles & therapeutics, with over 1,500 hours of supervised clinical experience.

National boards must be passed in the basic sciences and clinical sciences before practicing Naturopathic medicine in the state of Alaska.

More information about me just in case you're wondering.

In 2002 my family and I moved up to Soldotna Alaska from Portland Oregon. Since then my kids are grown & on their own. Somehow I've inherited my daughters dog as mine. And I'm now a grandma.  So life changes and we all change with it.  Sometimes the road is bumpy sometimes its smooth. But its always a grand adventure. I look forward to sharing new lessons and exchanging knowledge so that we all can grow and become more healthy, unique individuals on this journey called life.

I look forward to meeting you!

Take Care,

Dr. Dawn Lamb
